Upon active regular employment with NEC, employees are immediately eligible to participate in our Health and Welfare Insurance, Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts and Retirement programs.
Compensation
NEC USA offers a competitive compensation program to all employees. All exempt positions Company-wide are also eligible to participate in a Performance Bonus Plan.
Medical Insurance
NEC USA, Inc. medical coverage provides financial protection for our employees and their eligible dependents in meeting expenses for covered treatment and care.
We offer most employees across the country coverage through the Preferred Provider Organization, a form of managed medical care. The PPO Plans provide access to comprehensive, cost-effective medical care and preserves the choice for our employees to go to any physician of their choice. NEC pays the majority of the cost of coverage for employees and their dependents.
Our medical insurance also provides extensive in-and out-of-network mental health benefits.
Prescription Drug Benefits
Our Medical Insurance plans have generous prescription drug benefits.
Dental Insurance
Our dental coverage assists our employees in meeting the cost of prevention and treatment. Again, NEC pays the majority of the cost of coverage for our employees and their dependents.
Vision
All employees eligible for medical coverage and their eligible dependents are covered by the vision care program, fully paid for by NEC.
Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment
NEC provides fully-paid life insurance in the amount of two times the annual base salary, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance for specific injuries or loss of life.
Disability
Short Term Disability
We provide a generous Salary Continuance Program to employees who cannot work due to an illness or disability which qualifies for Short Term Disability or Workers' Compensation.
Long Term Disability
Our Long-Term Disability Program allows employees to participate on a voluntary basis through payroll deductions. This coverage provides monthly income protection beginning on the 181st day of disability.
Employee Assistance Program
All employees eligible for medical coverage and their eligible dependents are covered by NEC’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP can provide help for stress, anxiety, depression, or conflict, and is designed to help individuals through issues before they escalate into bigger problems.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
The Health Care FSA is a tax-free way for employees to pay for predictable health, dental, vision, and hearing expenses not covered by other NEC Benefit Plans or their spouse’s benefit plans.
The Dependent Care FSA is a tax-free way for employees to pay for predictable dependent care expenses.
Adoption Assistance
Through our Adoption Assistance Program, employees can be reimbursed for eligible adoption expenses incurred during the adoption process.
NEC Savings & Retirement Plan
The NEC Savings & Retirement Plan offers participants numerous funds in which they may invest their money. Employees may contribute from 1 to 80% of their pay before taxes, and NEC will match one-half of the first 5% contributed. Additionally, after the first year of service, NEC will contribute 5% of employees pay each year to the plan regardless of whether or not the employees contribute. Employees may also contribute 1 to 10% of their pay after taxes.
Vacation and Holidays
The number of vacation days accrued is based on length of service. Additionally, NEC provides company paid holidays each year.
Sick/Personal Days
NEC provides sick/personal time to be used for employee illness or personal emergencies.
Tuition Assistance
NEC will reimburse the cost of tuition, fees, and books to the maximum allowed for up to two approved courses per semester. The reimbursement percent depends on the grade received.

NEC also reserves the right to modify, amend, revoke, or terminate any plan, in whole or in part, at any time. The authority to make such changes to a plan rests with the Board of Directors of NEC. Any such modification, amendment, revocation or termination of a plan shall be made in written resolution adopted by the Board of Directors.
