Makoto Imai is President and CEO of NEC Corporation of America (NEC), an industry leader in network, IT and identity management solutions in North America.  

Based at the company headquarters in Irving, Texas, Mr. Imai oversees the operations of NEC's diverse business lines, ranging from IP voice and data solutions, server and storage solutions, optical network systems to radio communications, biometric security and digital cinema solutions

Mr. Imai joined NEC Corporation, Japan, in 1970. His experience spans 36 years of business management, product development, sales and marketing, primarily in the broadcast and video systems industry for domestic and overseas markets, including the United States. Prior to his current position, Mr. Imai served as Associate Senior Vice President of NEC Corporation, Japan, with executive responsibilities that included the management, marketing and sales of broadcast, postal automation and measurement control systems.

Mr. Imai holds a Bachelor's degree from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan.
