Mr. Yuichi Kawakami President and CEO NEC Electronics America As president and chief executive officer of NEC Electronics America, Yuichi Kawakami is responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations and executing its strategies and goals as a major supplier of system LSI solutions in the Americas. Mr. Kawakami's 30 years of experience with NEC companies has included various positions in management and executive management, primarily in the system LSI and microprocessor divisions, and a recent position as vice president of NEC Electronics Corporation's sales and marketing operations unit. After serving as a senior marketing/engineering manager for NEC Electronics America from 1989 to 1993, Mr. Kawakami returned to NEC Electronics in Japan and held successive positions as department manager of the microcomputer division, vice president of the solutions operations unit and vice president of the sales and marketing operations unit. In April 2005, Mr. Kawakami was named president and CEO of NEC Electronics America. Mr. Kawakami has four U.S. patents and 29 Japanese patents that have been issued to him and NEC. He holds a master's degree in electronics engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University in Japan. |
