The EMSX Platform is a set of components that together provide an element management system (EMS)
for managing various systems such as SONET, WDM, and ATM switches. The platform takes advantage of
the latest software technologies to provide a highly scalable, efficient, fault tolerant EMS. A modular
design was used to promote reuse of code, and to allow extensions such as custom southbound or northbound
interfaces to be made without impacting the core EMS modules. The core information model is based on TMF
